Hello,

The intelligence and curosity of a manatee is close to that of a cat, one of the many reasons they are in trouble now. The best time to see wild manatee is catch a very cold day, i'm talking in the 30-40F air temp range then head up to the head springs and you'll see tons of them, pun intended. Some do stay in freshwater durring the summer but not as many as the winter time.

Probably the best manatee photo I have ever taken of manatee's is on my web site, http://wetlands.simplyaquatics.com/images/crystal-river/manatee_new.jpg
