An Australian company called MediDive has developed specialized snorkels and regulators for people with asthma. Both use patented technology that includes a chamber that contains a Metered Dose Inhaler canister (puffer canister). According to their site, the regulator will allow physician approved and specially trained asthmatics the opportunity to scuba dive with the knowledge that their rescue medication is immediately available should it be required.

Pretty interesting, as I have thought about designing something similar myself. Of course, I have been medically cleared and never get in the water if I am having trouble breathing, but it would be nice to have something available if the SHTF and I wasn't able to surface quickly. I have never had anything like this happen and hopefully never will as I have my asthma controlled, but you never know.

Good to know......Thought about the samething
