Useless diving facts:

You are more likely to be killed by a pig than a shark.

Saw this on TV last night, how do they know? who collects the stats? and does anybody care?

Hunters who go boar hunting sometimes get attacked by the pigs.

Boar hunting is a fairly popular sport around the world.

Ditto for bear hunting as well.

The difference is pigs only attack when attacked. Bears do not need a reason.

I don't know where to prove this, but more people are killed in the US each year by deer than any other animal.

Mostly it is from the deer coming through the windshields of cars. How dare those darn deer to do that! They need a law to keep deer off of our roads!

Having actually been on the recieving end of a ticked off wild pig (black boar here in FL, decendants of the pigs that the spanish brought but eventually made their way into the wild) I will be the first to tell you that they can charge seemingly unprovoked. I was glad I didnt take down the pig as she was a sow and within a few minutes we learned she had her little ones out for a stroll around. I also know that what you think is a kill shot does not necessarily register with the animal right off thus the need to have either a quick repeating rifle or carrying a secondary. The result of being slow or having no second can lead to a good goring on the hogs tusks.

However, I do not know of one person who has lost their life to a piggy. :)
