@stuartv Easy there, don't be giving me ideas. I've already bought 6 scuba tanks, a wetsuit, and a hood since the year started (TBF, the hood was a belated christmas present)

Also, just noticed you're out of Lexington. Didn't realize you were so close by. If you're ever looking for someone to go diving with, feel free to give me a call. I mostly run the rivers, but I'm open to all sorts of diving.

@SouthernSharktoothDiver I dive with a can light and have never found it to be bothersome. It is stiff enough to stay close to the body (at least that's my experience). It obviously adds a layer of complexity, but after a few dives it's not that bad.

I like @stuartv suggestion of just owning multiple cordless also.

I dive in some murky stuff, I like having a goodman handle and a cord so it doesn't get lost. I have lost lights before, no fun.

You can mount cordless lights onto goodman handles or light socks also.. less likely to lose a light and can still use your hand (I 3D printed my 1st goodman handle, very cheap, worked great). Everybody dives a little different.

After 15 years my backups FWT Schulz GS35 (only 1 Oring ;-) ) with 3C leaks inside from bad batteries ( doesn't matter which brand Lidl , Hofer , Varta , Duracell , they all sucks ) . I go with twin Orcatorch D700 for 94€ and spare replacement battery 19€. Nice backup , immediately bicycle inner tube over front part for protection and bolt snap on back . I also look on Scubapro Nova 850 Tec but it does not have some big advantages , except bigger weight and head size and overall size

XTAR is a good one. Had it until friend lost it. Its also a great spare light.
Also look into OrcaTorches - they have excellent variety of lights and reasonable price.
