Hey all,

I have not been in the water in a long time, and am planning on diving tomorrow.

Where should we go? Malibu area vs further south? Where would be the best vis/conditions?

I am a very experience diver who grew up diving the islands almost weekly, but have only done a few beach dives. So ant info would be very helpful.

Not sure what conditions in Malibu have been like but I dove Laguna today and conditions were great! Light surge, 1-2ft surf 15-20ft vis; according to the swellwatch surf report conditions should be similar tomorrow. Heisler park is my favorite site in Laguna (out in the SE kelp bed), but surf tends to be bigger there and the walk down to the beach sucks, (walk back sucks even more). If you're looking for easy access/small surf, I would recommend Diver's cove, Crescent bay and Shaw's cove. If you don't mind a bit of a surface swim, the kelp bed at Diver's cove (South and slightly East...you can see it from the parking area) is a really neat little spot.

look at swellwatch, laguna is probably the best shot.
