What are some dive boats in the Clearwater area that might have some room this weekend? The gf is away and I have to get in the water before I go insane.

Check here for some charter listings. I spoke to Aquatic Obsessions and they seemed to be a nice dive op. I think it was Giant Stride that never returned my call.

It looks like the weather is going to be crappy this weekend, and last weekend when I called most of those places they refused to head out due to rough seas. The conditions may be a little better for this weekend, though.

If it doesn't work out, it looks like we might be headed over to Ginnie Springs for a muck dive if your interested ;).

Yeah, I'd be up for Ginnie for the upteenth time - I have a new drysuit that I'd like to play with, without killing myself. I should have bought an annual pass.

since i end up diving in springs way too many times that i would like to and those are mostly state parks with restrictions on carrying lights..

does anybody know what is the minimal cert i would need to have to carry light to .. say.. blue springs or ginnie springs ? not to do cave diving but just be able to peek into places :-)

Somehow (i am probably wrong) i think that PADi cavern cert is not enough and I would need something like intro to cave... am i right ?

it would just make those trips to springs that much more interesting. (they are the closest driving-wise, places to go diving from my part of Orlando)

I would _love_ to go the tec/cave way .. i used to go spelunking way back when... but i dont' have the equipment now (no backplate/wings, no double tanks... just basic rec stuff :) to get into cave diving full time...

i guess with some more money, more time ...
:mean:

oh well.. started typing too much in this post :-)

I am probably going to go to Ginnie this weekend too, hopefull Dr Jay gives me a ride .. will ya ? ;)

I don't know about PADI Cavern, but I know an NSS-CDS Cavern card will be just fine at Ginnie to carry lights, as long as you follow the limitations of your certification.
