Today I went out to one of the world's best dive site, the USNS Vandenberg in Key West, Florida. If you have never dove the Vandy, you gotta put it on your MUST DO list. So many things are going right at this Artifical Reef site, and divers like me cannot get enough. A Huge 40 foot American Flag hangs from the Kingpost on the bow, 12 or 13 photos are on exhibit 95 feet underwater, the Duval Street sign for photos, two amazing satellites dishes to relax in, dozens of swim-threws, a ton of marine life, and that is not even mentioning the growth of the coral over the past two years. Now you have one more thing to look out for on the Vandy. My son and I have been dropping coins at random places on the ship. If you find one of these coins, please post on this site where and when you found it. The coins are whatever I can get my hands on from Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Air Force, to 9-11 rememberance coins. I truly think the Vandenberg is a wonderful dive for every type of diver. Let me know when you are headed this way.....Just 90 miles to Cuba.
