I am hoping to get out of the province and explore some new territory. Has anyone ever dove the Pretoria? http://www.geodiving.com/locationDetails.asp?id=16

I've heard it's about a mile off shore, are there any boats that head out that way, or am I best to bring one with? Any other suggestions of likely dive sites would be greatly appreciated! Or any groups/ guides that would be heading out that way?

TIA!

I was part of the effort to put the boiler back on the Pretoria.
It is about one mile offshore of Outer Island. The closest city with a boat launch is Bayfield and that is about 25 miles from the wreck site.
Having said that it is a fantastic dive on one of the largest wooden ships ever built.
If I remember right it is 337 ft long.
Because of the salvage work to remove the iron ore and the boiler the ship is layed out flat but still an impressive dive.
