Just wondering how many of you divers out there have experienced the Marianas Islands? I did for 40 years and would enjoy hearing your stories. I did not get to many islands myself. Guam, Palau and Yap for scuba and was lucky to snorkle in Ulithi. Be good to hear from you....

I lived in Guam in 1988 for about 6 months. Worked for the PDN. Would I know you?

Jerry

Thanks for writing Jerry. My brother Paul worked for the PDN writing the advertizing supplements for years. I was the captain of the fishing vessel Andiamo and the Windjammer dinner boat in Apra Harbor. Let me know of the dives you've done. I worked for the Marine Lab and we dove everywhere. It's good to hear from you...

I spent a lot of time in the piti bomb holes and hap's reef. Bomb holes were great night dives on full moon nights. I took a wreck diving course while there, so have done most of the wrecks around Guam. Blue hole was cool. Never got what all the interest in Crevice was, other than a good dive for deep dive training. I did some dives on Saipan, Palau and Truk while over there. I am intending to go back with some dive buddies probably around the end of 2014 and spend a couple of weeks on Guam, visiting friends and trying to get in some diving on most every day of the trip. Good bang for the buck. There are a lot more dive locations charted now than when I was out there.

I got married on Apra Harbor on the Windjammer then went diving the Blue Hole to celebrate. Always a great dive. We worked at Haps Reef often. Picked up a grandpa Trident Tumpet on a deep dive at Crevice many years ago. I don't get to dive anymore so I really envy your return. I hope you get a chance to enjoy Guam and the other islands to their fullest. I have a few pictures and stories of Guam on my site. You may want to check it out. Thanks for writing. adventure-ocean
