I just came back this week from a 5-day trip on the Jonathan Cruiser. It was absolutely fantastsic and the dive master is very nice and knowledeable. I also was traveling alone and encountered no problems. Have a great time.

Thanks for the update rjeudi. I am really excited and leave on March 15. Will write a short trip report when I return.

You are sure to have a good cruise on Jonathan Cruiser. This Liveaboard is 1 of the very first to operate around The Similans/Surin islands. The owner, Thomas Kroon, tries his utmost to ensure that their guests are happy both on and off the boat.

Enjoy the Jonathan . . . I just returned from a 4 day/night trip on LeMahe. The diving was great, the crew was great. I was solo-diving, too, and got put into a small group at the start. The DM sorted us out by skill levels, and I wound up making friends the others I was diving with. I'm sure you'll meet others.

Whether a day trip or a liveaboard you will be safe and will be assigned a buddy and monitored well by the dive master of your group.

There are many fine boats going to the Similans from Phuket and some not so fine but cheap. The MV Colona VI is a very nice boat with very personalized service. The DM's Mark and Raul are the best and are sure to keep you laughing. The Colona was $640 U.S. for 4 fun filled days and nights. I just got back from the trip a couple weeks ago. I enjoyed it so much that I took it twice during my stay in Phuket

The rooms have 2 bunks, toilet, shower, refrigerator and power to charge batteries or run a laptop 24 hours a day. If you go alone they will bunk you in a room with someone. You will only sleep in your room so the roommate thing is no big deal. If you contact Mark or Raul they can probably give you the date that the Swedish Bikini team will be on board and you may get a great roommate!

Any other questions about Thailand let me know. I have been going there for 9 years. I love the place.
