Anyone ever done it? I have to fly to Kuwait tomorrow and was invited to do some diving. I could not seem to find a dive shop there that rents doubles and my rig I have with me here in the Philippines is for doubles. Just curious if it can be done safely. My doubles wing is a single donut bladder. IST Dolphin Tech 50#.

Looking at IST's site one issue that comes to mind is cam bands. The 50# on the site has no accomodations for bands, (unless you have a different wing) meaning you'll need a single tank adapter.
Another issue will be tacoing of the wing which could cause the wing to trap gas.

I haven't done it, but I have seen a diver gearing up with that combination.
Lay a single tank on top of your doubles wing, and then use your own personal judgement.

I have the single tank adaptor with cam bands with me for a single wing. I took it with me for a just in case scenario. Appears that scenario just might play out. Just wondering if there any possible adverse results of doing it.

I can possibly see the taco effect happening.

You will have trouble venting adequately, but if you are aware of this and facile with your setup, you can break trim and get it sorted out. It isn't elegant, but it can be done.

Good to hear. Only going to do a day worth of diving. Not worth buying another wing for. Especially buying gear overseas at double price.

At the risk of ruining a good dive trying to make a square fit in a round hole I hopped on over to my LDS and purchased an IST Dolphin Tech 30# single wing. Now I will be set for any other future single tank dives while traveling.

I do it all the time. I did it yesterday. I have no issues at all. I use a single tank adapter. Tacoing? Probably. Problems? Not so far. I use a OMS 90# lift w/ a SS BP. Enjoy your diving!
