Hello,

I am planning a week of diving in the Red Sea. Something like five consecutive days diving with two dives per day at shallow depth since I am an Open Water diver. Then I would have a day off and leaving by plane in late afternoon, so about 30 hours after the last dive... is this safe?

18 hour SI before flying is suggested by Divers Alert Network studies for such a plan, but it's fine to be more prudent.

Short answer: yes

Long answer: the "default" no-dive duration before a flight is 24 hours. 24 hours is also - and this is not a coincidence - the duration that you should not go diving if an incident occurs during a dive.

[edit] Ah I see that DAN has another duration as a minimum. Well, 18 or 24 hours is not very important. Just know that with 30 hours you're fine! [/edit]
Cheers!
