Diving on the weekend need some advice

My husband and I are going down to Ct (Mystic Seaport Area) over the weekend not being from that area not sure we can do an easy shore dive. Are there any areas we should look at or stay away from? Are there any dive laws we should be aware of? Thanks

Youre about 1-1/4 hr from Ft Wetherill in Jamestown, RI. I would consider that; and for the CT shore your 15-20 mins from Stonington Point and thats an ok shallow 20 ft dive max.
