I've just returned from Australia and I've just found out that I was pregant when I did one dive at the great barrier reef. I dont have the licence to dive so I only did a beginners dive. Do you think this represents a serious risk to the fetus? (I think my baby was on its 12th day of life...).
Thanks a lot!

While it is not possible to say with absolute certainty, it is extraordinarily unlikely that a single beginner's depth dive at this estimated stage of gestation would pose any significant risk to the developing embryo.

However, as you seem to appreciate, it would be risky to the fetus to engage in any further scuba until after you have given birth.

This is educational only and does not constitute or imply a doctor-patient relationship. It is not medical advice to you or any other individual, and should not be construed as such.

Best regards.

Just as long as you think he/she has adequate time to equalize the ears. You don't want to bust an eardrum before you ever get to lecture it. :)

Breath sweetie, listen to what the doctors are telling you and enjoy the miracle of child birth. Congratulations and welcome to motherhood, it's a wonderfully rewarding experience. :)

Yes, a very big congratulations on the future arrival. I've never experienced this but I'm watching my new nieces grow up and I love it. Enjoy!! :)
