As I mentioned, got a cruise to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Roatan and Belize in Feb. I missed the boat on our ship dive in Cozumel in Feb. The ship dive is sold out, it was only $99 with full equipment. The cruise ships use Sand Dollar Sports.. I've heard they are good along with Dive with Martin. Still deciding.

In Roatan, I got my brothers a discovery dive with West End Divers and a two tank dive for me. I will dive and then come back and dive with my brothers for the second dive. They were pretty reasonably priced and my wife and sister's in law are going snorkeling at the same time with them as well.

Not sure who to dive with in Costa Maya.

Not diving in Belize.

I'm on the same cruise.

Looks like were using different companies. I'll post a review at end of cruise.

28 Jan: Diving with Ocean Explorers
29 Jan: Diving with Antigua Scuba School
30 Jan: Diving with Dive Fair Helen
31 Jan: Diving with Pro Divers

FYI - I dove with Scuba Dogs in San Juan in June. Good operation but shore diving there is kind of disappointing. But night dive there might be fun.

Had never heard of Sand Dollar Sports before. Added the info that I could from their website to my spreadsheet. As you said, Dive with Martin gets good reviews - one thing I would check is DWM's location. During the pandemic they relocated to Marina Fonatur (from the International Pier area) which would be a pretty long walk. SDS will still be about a 15-20 minute walk from the cruise ship, assuming you pull into the International Terminal.

@mac66. At Costa Maya, I can highly recommend Alux Divers, pronounced Alush. Alex is the owner. Dove with them last month, and will use again the next time in Mahahual. I wrote a review of him on SB when I got back. Search ALUX DIVERS-MAHAHUAL

Gypsea Divers is also frequently recomended in Costa Maya/Mahahual. Decisions, decisions

My father-in-law, years ago, actually did dive off a cruise ship. I'm not sure if it was Princess or Royal, but they were on a smaller ship in, I believe, Fiji and they had a small platform that opened up off the stern. Dove right off the ship.
I'm in! Sounds like an experience that you wouldn't forget.

There was video recently on youtube of a drunk guy jumping off the balcony of something like deck 10 of a ship. He survived but he and all his buddies were kicked off the ship and banned from the cruise line for life. I don't remember which ship it was.

In Cozumel, I use Dive Paradise because they have a 10:00 a.m. express boat. Most (all?) of the other shops on the island head out at or before 9:00, which makes it difficult to time when you may be delayed by Customs to get off the ship. Dive Paradise is located on the other side of the street from the Wyndham hotel, so it's only a short $8 cab ride from/to the port.

In my first trip to Costa Maya, I had a fantastic experience with Gypsea Divers. They share the beach with the Nacional Beach Club. I was fortunate to be the only diver on the boat -- with the guide, of course! -- and the diving was beyond my expectation. Almost on par with Cozumel! I'm actually surprised Costa Maya isn't a more popular dive location.
