Are there any good options near there? Or is the closest to go north towards Playas del Coco? (And how long would that typically take?)

If you want to stay on the Nicoya Peninsula I would go North to Playa Del Coco or PLaya Hermosa. It should take you round an hour probably less to get there from Nosara.
