Diving months in NC

Im going to be in Beaufort, NC all Spring, and I was wondering what month the water is usually starting to get warm enough for wet suit diving.

Hum looking back at my log book seems most of time and best I remember most start in mid may, but allot of dive just when ever the temps reaches wear we feel comfortable,

The dive shops in Wilmington, NC. usually start charters in mid to late April ... the sites they visit are farther offshore and close to the Gulf Stream at this time.

Did a few dives on May 3rd last year and was comfortable in a 3mm wetsuit.
