I've posted many times about diving in Isla Mujeres, easiest thing to do is do a search in the mexico forum for :Isla Mujeres" and read those posts, since there is too much to try to post again.

Just got back from a trip to Isla, and dove (8 dives) with Carey Dive shop. Ones of the reasons I chose Carey, was that I did some searching here on SB (and some other SCUBA forums) and everyone had good things to say about Carey. My girlfriend was doing her Open Water referral dives... and I wanted someone who was multilingual so she would be more comfortable. Gilberto (with Carey) speaks four languages, so that was covered, lol! He is also an excellent instructor, very meticulous, and careful... she did very well with him. I dove with Gilberto, and also Divemaster Rudolfo... and had a good time with both. I was doing photography, and they didn't mind my being a little slower than the rest of the group (after they saw that I was ok with it)... and they were good about helping to find critters to shoot. Dives averaged 45 minutes or so... and the best diving was in the bays (Atlantic and Manchone reefs). Shallow (30-40'), but coral was in better shape with more marine life. I highly recommend Carey diving center! You can find them on Facebook or with a google search (or PM me for more info on Isla in general if you want)
