Just got home from an hour long dive at the local mudhole.
A chilly (for us Texans anyway) 52 degrees with a max depth of 24' for an hour. Finally finished rigging up my backplate correctly and dove it tonight with my LP112 doubles.
Very comfortable and stable, I was very impressed. Even the 2'' webbing on the crotch strap was comfortable. I expected the wider, stiffer webbing than I am used to to cause some discomfort.
My rig tonite was set up almost completely DIR. (still not giving up my computer yet) I gotta admit, it was a breeze getting into and out of it with out some of the extra junk to mess with.
I think for now I will continue to use my backplate with the my doubles, but use my TPII when diving singles. At least til I get an STA anyway.
This gives me my second dive for the new year, off to a pretty good start. Maybe I shoulda made a resolution to average one dive per week for the new year??
Ahhhh, nothing tires you out quite like a nice dive, so I think it's off to bed for me...
