Hello everyone!

I'm just beginning in the world of scuba, i did a couple of contained dives when i was growing up with the boyscouts which gave me a fascination for the sport. I've finally found some time to go get certified and start putting some experience under my belt. I look forward to learning from the people on here. I'm currently in Korea with the US military but taking some vacation time to Hawaii to begin the dives.

hey there

Why not think about getting some dives in Korea? Jeju island has really good diving. Also some locations on the peninsula can be pretty good too.

Where are you based? there is an American outfit called aquatic frontier that are based on a military base in osan also you have Deep Blue Quest in Seoul and Sea World Dive centre in Busan all run courses and dives in Korea in English as well as organising international travel.

Have a good time in Hawaii

Drew

Thanks scoob. I'm just heading back to Korea tomorrow should be alright. I'm going to try to hit up some of the big dive sites in asia while I still have time remaining in Korea. There are some really well priced trips that go to the Philippines and to thailand and such. I have heard a bit about the american outfit on osan and I will talk to them. I'm stationed about an hour away in yongsan (Seoul) and should be able to make it down there pretty easy. This trip was awesome because I gained some comfort in the water and my girlfriend really seems to enjoy it. We just did a really simple snorkel trip in Hanauma bay and it was a ton of fun, mainly because we were out on our own and the wildlife is very welcoming there. The schools of fish just move around you and the reef is beautiful. When I got a few meters away from the crowds the visibility was amazing. Anyway, if anyone is looking for dive buddies in asia, hit me up. :)

Daniel
