Hi

I might be moving to Tualatin/Portland (OR) region end of this year and try to check out if I can continue diving over there. Any information is appreciated. I'm looking for those stuff
- Is there an active diving community
- You know a online forum where the community meet
- Are there rebreather divers
- Are there open circuit technical divers
- Where to get Helium from, where to fill my tanks
- ...

Currently I'm living in Munich, Germany. Weekly dives in the "Starnberger See" or some lakes in the Austrian or Swiss Alps is what I’m doing. More on www.11barclub.de unfortunately the forum is in German only. We dive mostly on computer decompression, sometimes on runtime tables between 40 – 100m.

Thanks
Mark

Since no one else has responded, I'll tell you the little I know. Most of the Portland area divers I've met come up to the Puget Sound area to dive, especially to Hood Canal. There are certainly active rebreather and technical divers in the great Puget Sound region, and one place to meet them is on our little, local dive forum, nwdiveclub.com There are quite a few technical sites, ranging from the airplanes in Lake Washington to the big dives on the deep wrecks in the Straits. Diving here is very current-intensive (except, of course, in the lake) so the big dives are planned well in advance.

Please let me know if you do come out our way, and if there is anything I can do to facilitate the transition. Specific information about dive shops, gas sources and the like will be easier to get at the link I cited above.

Hi TSandM

thanks a lot. I'll check out the site and the spots you mentioned.
Yeah seems like its getting more complicated for 160psi dives than I'm used to ;-)

Cheers
Mark
