Has anyone here been diving in Mauritius, or know whether or not the diving there is good?

My (Reunionese) Fiancee and I are getting married in Ile de la Reunion in April. We have been diving there, and it is very good - not as good as the Maldives, perhaps, but nevertheless worth doing if you are there.

However, we are looking to spend our honeymoon away from Reunion, but somewhere within easy reach of the island owing to transport difficluties in that part of the world. Mauritius is easily reached, and the island is quite beautiful. BUT: we have heard that the diving is poor due to much of the coral having been destoyed by dynamite fshing and polution. Can anyone confirm this? Is there anywhere else in the region that you could recommend?

Rodriguez to the east has much better diving, due to much fewer human traffic!
