Diving in Maldives

I am planning to go to Maldives around Sept/ Oct period. Any recommendations on dive sites, dive operators, etc.

I haven't decided on the resort yet... I searched on the net and found too many. An alternative is to go LOB.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific. Any recommendations and thoughts would be very much appreciated.

I have been to the following resorts and they are all very nice

1. Merihi - very small resorts with only around 30 bungalows, but i heard they have changed management. I don't know about the new one.
2. Hilton - international chain. the water bugalow is very nice.
3. Soneva fusi - very nice but a bit expensive
4. Medhufushi - I saw my first whale shark there; also menta; turtle...

Maldives diving nowadays offer excellent fish life, but don't expect to see much coral as most of them have been destroyed by coral bleaching. I don't know about those remote dive sites which can only be reached by the liveaboard.
