I would like to do some treasure hunting around cocktail cove and the marina's. I did dive in Lanier once before but that was only to find a prop pulling tool we dropped in the water :11: I am also buying gear so any help would be helpful.

I found 2 nice complete rod and reel sets at Two Mile Creek Park this past Sat. at about 25ft-30ft. They need alot of cleaning up, but my brother said he may be able to use them. I don't care too much about fishing, I like to become the fish.
Who knows what else was down there I haven't gotten yet. Maybe some real gold, like a barrel of gasoline!

Ha Ha Ha. The famous Lanier Oil Well that went under when the dam went up! You need polarized sunglasses to see the oil film on the surface. Maybe there was a Quicktrip near the old racetrack.

I have been treasure hunting out at cocktail cove about 6 times in the last few years, there is usually alot of stuff to find on the bottom, anchors, golfballs, sunglasses ect ect. It is best to dive during the week or very early on weekends due to the boat traffic, the visability is usually about 5 feet out there.

1st bits of equipment for Lanier: shears and a backup knife (lots of monofilament down there)

And, welcome to Scubaboard, neighbor...!
