I stayed at and dived with Fantasy Island, Nov 2008. Good dive operation. The food at the resort was less than five star, but I heard they have 'upgraded' to a new chef. Favorite Dives: Mary's Place and Valley of the Kings.
My buddies got there OW,AOW,Nitrox at COCO View and swear by them! West End divers arnt bad when they have enough DM's around. Coconut tree is out from what im told however we get out airfills there....very good price and good air quality! Hope this helps

Went to AKR in Nov 2008 had a great time. Didn't do training but met Serge their instructor and he seemed knowledgeable. The food was good and the staff was all very friendly and helpful. I agree Marys Place is a must dive. Enjoy the diving.

Avoid Cocoview.
I was at AKR on December 2009, nice rustic place. Food is not great and service at the restaurant is below average. However Michelle Tibbis, the instructor is very good, the DM and boat capitan are very nice, you can do 3 daily dives, plus 2 night dives a week. I loved spooky channel, Divemaster choice and mary´s place.

There are a lot of choices on Roatan and it's a big island. Please describe more of what your looking for, both in a dive op and hotel/resort. It would also help Roatan regulars to know your dive experience and what your looking for on the trip.
