Yo

I am a newby to the board from Holland. I am impressed by the quality of the discussions, especially about decompression (compliments to :doctor: dr Deco).

Usually when I tell people I like to spend my time diving and I do this in Holland they reply: 'Gee, can you see anyting beside mudd underwater?'. For all of those who wants to ask me this question:
Yes, you can. Though we do not have much coral (actually none) spending time under water in Holland is much fun. Especially in the state Zeeland, we've great abundance of under-salt-water life. Fresh water fish can be impressive as well. Mail/answer me if you are interested.

I've a scientific background, as you can deduce from my homepage Deep Ocean Diving. I tried to present medical, scientific and technology about Scuba Diving.

Greetz to you all !

Hi Jorgen

Greetings from The Hague.

I am British and live in the Westerland where we bought a house as we (my family and I) love diving in Zeeland. We have been diving here for over 20 years now. Visibility is surprisingly good for mainland Europe. My favorite Zeeland sites include

Scharendijk, the Pumphouse at Dreishor, Den Osse, Collingsplaat, Zuidbout, Brouwers Haven and Zeriksee.

I hope we meet up with you sometime

Groetjes

Hi jorgen and Aquamore....

I agree on your best places in Zeeland, but you miss the best spot.....

Ever tried the Zeeland bridge? This is a nice spot, though a bit current, but when you dive on the change of the tide it can be a real cool dive!!

Cheers Jeyte

ps: watch out, your compass is wicked  under the Zeelandbridge, caused by the steel and concrete in the bridge.

Greetings from the state that's high in the middle and round on both ends! OHIO! Glad you're enjoying the board, there's a whole bunch of good information here and the people are really nice!

Check out the "diver parodies" thread if you get a chance, it will give you an idea about the kind of people you're dealing with!

My wife is dutch, so I spend a lot of time in Holland. She is originally from Alphen a/d Ryn.

Anyway, have fun in the best board on the net.

Ari :D

Hi Jeyte

Thanks I almost forgot one of my favorite Low Water drift dives (high water is a different story) with an SMB and a RIB close behind.

Happy Memories

Scubajorgen,
Welcome to the scuba board family. I really enjoyed your web site.

Yo Jeyte

Thanx for the reply

I definitely agree with you. The Zeelandbrug is my favorite site in Zeeland. Second 'pijler' is the best! Giant lobsters at night. During summer you should dive there not right between the tides but bit earlier or later (bit current though). Otherwise you can walk to the 'pijler' over other divers heads.

Bye

Jorgen

I know what you mean about walking on the other divers heads.... it does get a bit busy doesn't it!

Here's a couple of vehicles full from last summer
