Hi guys, me and my friend planning to visit Croatia in August and would like to have a few dives (lets say not more than 4 days of diving). We prefer not to be in the same place all the time. We know there are numerous dive sites in the country and struggling to figure out what places/dive sites we should visit. The ideal for us is to stay overnight in two or three nice Island and combine the dives. We are open water divers. We thought to spend two days on VIS and two days in Krk, what do you think? Where are the best dive sites? The best would be to alternate between caves dives, wrecks, wall, coral etc.

Many many thanks,

Gigi

Hi Gigi,

I can't really advise you about locations. My experience in Croatia is limited although the diving I did there was good.

One word of caution though. If you are going to be renting gear then I would advise taking your own computer with you. My experience was that rental computers are in short supply (and not only in Croatia). I ended up diving on tables there because of this. For me that wasn't an issue but if you prefer to dive with a computer then you should account for that.

Dear Diver0001, thank you for the reply! Just want to be clear - we are looking for guided dives, and probably would not hire computers from them so we will kind of rely of the instructor and our gauge.

Anywhere north of Zadar up to Rijeka is good. Most dive centers in that area will take you to Kornati national park. Vis is famous for wrecks and caves, but if your profile is accurate, do not count on it. @Vicko might be more helpful.
