I will be in this area for a week this summer (early August) and am wondering what kind of diving is in the area. (Any reefs, etc?, average depth, time to get to dive sites vai boat, etc)

Also, any recommendations for a dive operator.

I am PADI AOW Cert, ~20 dives total, but am comfortable in all conditions

Thanks for your help

Did you ever find the answer to your question about sites and operators in the Charleston area? This is the exact same question i came to this site with, except I'm going to be on IOP a week from today.

I think that there are two operators. One is chareston scuba, which is a strict no touch or take operation. The other is charleston dive center in Mt pleasant. I think they are the one two but I am not sure.

Yes
The link is attached. Charlestowwn Scuba has a set schedule to a lot of different sites. Unlike the Keys, it looiK like the sites a a bit further out as 1 trip (2 tank dive) Takes[all day. In the Keys, you can do 2 dives in 1/2 day. The sites listed sound pretty good.
