Hey everyone! A diving friend of mine recommended ScubaBoard's forums to find out if anyone out there has dove Fiji and had any details and recommendations. My husband and I are both advanced divers and we are going in April 2011 for a friend's wedding. We would like to make a long dive trip out of it as well. So if there is anyone out there with ideas, recommendations of islands and dive shops and particular "can't miss" dive sites please let me know. Thanks so much!

Welcome to SB! There's a huge forum of trip reviews from the Pacific islands here on SB that should give you a ton of information:

The Pacific Islands - ScubaBoard

"Can't miss?" ... go to YouTube and search for "Beqa shark dive."

Fiji has great dives and in such variety. I spent a bit of time there several years back and enjoyed myself immensely.

My highlight must be Beqa Lagoon and sharks.

If you are diving out of the Nadi area, try to pick an outfit with fast boats (Crystal Divers was recommended to me but I made the mistake of going with one of the "cheap backpacker" operations).

Have fun searching the Fiji section here and have a great trip.

Parker- thanks for the tip. I found that link/thread after I posted this question. Thanks for the tip. Louie-many people have recommended Beqa so I will be sure to check it out. Thanks for the tip on the dive operations as well!
