Just wondering i was looking at the normal open water dive table and something pop into my head i may sound like a noob but oh well. lets say im diving to 100 feet the max time is says i can spend down there is 20 mins? with doubles you would have lots of air left over how do people stay long time under with doubles without dieing? do you do a mad decompresion stop like how could you spend like 40 mins down there with doubles?

It depends on the gass you use and a lot of divers are trained in mix gass and Deco diving.

Breathing different gases, and/or doing decompression stops - ball of which take additional training

Decompression isnt something to be scared of. Despite some agencies trying to scare people off contrary to what they want people to think it isnt that difficult, isnt that dangerous and you dont die on entering decompression. At its basic level anyone capable of buoyancy control is capable of a decompression dive with the right equipment.

i was meaning just normal gas i see alot of people use normal gas with doubles to get into normal i will do nitrox when i do AOW any info on that whats the difference. I got really good bouyancy me and my friend spent all summer diving and doing that

And as another wiser and more experienced (than me), Scubaboard member pointed out:

All dives are decompression dives, it's only a question of whether your decompression is made above or below the water :)

I'm currently in TDI's advance nitrox/deco procedures course. But I dove doubles all last year for no-decompression dives. Mostly to get used to them for this year, but also because I can get two to three dives out of my double LP-95s, depending on the depth and time of the dives.

'all dives are deco dives....'

Thats a good point, I never thought of my surface intervals like that.

Using Nitrox 36 you could do 100ft for 35min with only 2 minutes of deco at 10ft

Like this.

Dec to 100ft (2) on Nitrox 36.0,
Level 100ft 33:00 (35) on Nitrox 36.0
Asc to 10ft (38) on Nitrox 36.0,
Stop at 10ft 2:00 (40) on Nitrox 36.0
Asc to sfc. (40) on Nitrox 36.0

Anything longer and it would be best to take an higher % nitrox for deco gas.

Multi-level dives. I can start a dive at around 100 feet, effectively end at 30 feet, suck back anywhere from 120-180 cubic feet and never be in a profile that requires a mandatory decompression stop. I also like the redundancy they offer, whether I have a buddy or not. Most importantly, chicks swoon as you don your doubles.
