So I am reading on most of the PDC dive op websites that they offer Cozumel diving with a trip over on a ferry necessary. So is there a dive op waiting for you at the ferry dock? Or do they have you take a taxi from there to a particular dive op? How is this done?

I am trying to put together a trip and convince my hubby that we can stay in PDC and dive the cenotes a couple of days and dive over on Coz a couple of days with no problems.

thanks!

I am not aware of any dive shops that meet you at the ferry. Depending on the operator, there are three basic options. Some shops are within walking distance to the ferry (ie..Studio Blue Divers - 2 and a half blocks) and they will transport you to the marina. Some operators (with or without shops) will have you take a taxi to the marina and meet you there. There are operators that work out of 'offices' and will pick up tanks and just meet you at the Caleta. 'Many' operators leave from the south marina 'La Caleta Marina'. Some other operators have other docking options (ie...Dive with Martin that has a shop and dock at the International Pier). The International Pier is half way between Caleta and the Ferry Terminal. I find this convenient. They also run an afternoon dive and will make it a 2-tank dive with a minimum of 3 or 4 divers ( can't remember which). With the afternoon dive you can take the 1100 ferry instead of the 0700. If you book in advance you might be able to add a twilight or night dive as well. I'll be doing the 'Coz' ferry run the week after next myself (tentative Tuesday, 3rd March).

Hi look up Opal on Scubamaucozumel and she will get you out at a great price. It's 70pesos to her shop at Villa Blanca, very simple off the ferry. If you have your gear, they will clean and store it if you are going to dive the next day. Although I think I would pack it everyday in case there is an issue when back at pdc. They have a great op, lots of fun. Very cautious. Dive your gas. kevin

I have not made the arrangements with a shop in PDC to dive in Coz, but, I do know it varies. Some take you by their own boat and others by ferry. In the latter case, once you are there you are meeting up with another, partner dive op. The cost of the ferry may or may not be included.

When considering this option (PDC shop diving in Coz) the cost is usually higher, so find out if it includes transportation, (ferry, cabs) and lunches. Does a DM travel with you.

I looked at Tank Ha's coz dives like someone mentioned, looks like Mondays are the only Open day, all others you have to have a group of 6+. I'd be curios to hear about any other Op's that do Coz from playa (non-ferry)
