Hi all!

Greetings from HK! I am new to this fascinating website. I am planning to go diving in Phuket or Sri Lanka, and may be to help out the relief work there. I just wonder what the diving conditions are there, and would any diving clubs there be organizing some corals cleaning work?

Welcome!! Any question you have, you can probably find a post about it in the archives, or just ask away and someone will steer you to an answer.

I've never done any diving there, but I'm sure many here have!

thanks for the tips. it seems that they talk more about the Maldives on the websites. I would love to get to MAldives to survey the situation, but do you know of any diving operations around Phuket and Sri Lanka that helps salvage the damage in those areas?

I must confess I am just a pleasure diver - easy, lots to see... but I'd like help out a bit in the dive sites worst hit by the tsunami, like PHuket and Sri Lanka, would you know where to ask?
