Hello all, I'm new to the forum, so please bear with me if I'm missing some of the rules...

I'm looking for some recommendations for diving related books, mainly nonfiction like diving action and adventure accounts. I'd also like to find something which explains a bit about Tech diving. I'm a relative newbie, so I'm not planning on getting into, but I'm curious just the same.

Thanks,
Dennis Cloutier

any of the books on the adrea doria are pretty good. shadow divers, submerged. One of my favs is "rapture of the deep and other dives stories you probably shouldn't hear."

All divers should read Silent World by Cousteau, a history of the invention of scuba and hair-raising tales of the early days, when no one knew dive tables or anything about oxygen toxicity, etc, and the equipment was all makeshift. Amazon has used copies for as little as three bucks.

Last Dive, Shadow Divers, Fatal Depth. All three exactly what you are looking for. Non fiction, action adventure...

Deep Diver. Try to read the basic scuba books first- have em at Barnes and Noble, enjoy the pics, read the fun easy stuff. The tech books may bogg you down with tech stuff, you'll shoot urself before ur first dive.
