Hey 'birds,
I've never dove WBP, but I've done all of my Lanier diving up until now, at Two-Mile Creek off of Browns Bridge Rd.
I wonder what it looks like now? I know in the summer time it's really jet-ski alley where I dive, but I am thinking there may some decent entries still left where you don't have to fight with the Creature from the Mud Lagoon to start blowing bubbles.
Last summer I was in 30-40ft. of water at only 60-70 ft. from the shore with much deeper water in the channel if you ventured further out.
Just a thought to consider if someone would want to try it with me in the next few weeks.
My 7mm is daring me to put it on and turn "smurf blue" while I burn some air. After the cold winter we've had, I am going to regret not getting drysuit certified by now.

sure I'm game. so long as I don't have to get *MY* drysuit too muddy :D how's the viz though after the rains we've had? any idea?

I haven't been up there yet to check it out. I wanted to wait a few weeks for it to warm up some since I'll be diving with my 7mm. I need to get drysuit certified in the next few months. Cold water and me don't mix very well at all.

I'd like to do it with ya!

I need to check my resources, but I'm thinking Brown's Bridge is one of the bridges where some of the old bridge sub-structure is still in existence.

Not this weekend for sure. But maybe by the end of the month or some time around the 2nd weekend in April. I would enjoy greatly being able to find another site for the 'birds to dive at Lanier.
How's your Dad, K? I remember he was sick not long ago.

He's frail, but doing OK.

If I could just get him to stop smoking. I think I'm going to steal the O2 bottle he's carrying around for rapid deco at 20'.

Thanx for asking.

I just ordered an AERIS AI computer with compass and Q/D from Leisure Pro. My 10 year old analog gauges are not good enough for my 53 year old eyes, especially in the murky depths of Lanier.
I am getting serious about my diving this year and finally after being PADI OW in '82, this is the summer I am going to get my PADI AOW. I need to do some more deeper (50+ ft.) dives with you guys to get some practice in for my AOW.

Borg, you're in luck . . . ;)

Thanks, I could use some luck, hopefully very good. I've had enough of the bad in last few years. A good day of diving will heal the mind and the body like nothing else. But all of you know that very well by now.

Since I've only got my 7mm, I 've got to get drysuit certified soon.. I am going to wait until later in April when it's a "little" warmer at Lanier. I do remember swimming on Memorial Day, in May a few years ago in a tee shirt and shorts and was not cold. Of course, that is in less of than 8-10 ft. of water and not in the deep, dark COLD 30+ft. depths that are frigid even in August.
