John,

Have you booked through one of the local dive operators? If so, everytime we've gone to Sipadan (3 times to-date) the dive operator had someone meet us at the Tawau airport and they provided the transfer from Tawau to Semporna as part of the reservation.

hey rick

nope i'm not doing the standard package thing with dive operators becoz it's more expensive. i'm taking a long distance bus straight from KK to semporna so i neednt take a flight to Tawau. dats why i gotta plan all these travelling myself down to the nitty gritty..

cheers

Hi,

I cannot recall but the bus think is daily one per day or max 2 trips. The travel time is about 10 to 11 hours? I last visited Semporna and one of my Scottish friend took the bus from Semporna to KK. Let me see if I can find the contact; no promise.

If you are travelling from KK town think by bus will be a good budget if by flight I would suggest you consider taking the flight which and a cab direct from the airport for the first time; or try tag agong with those dive centres mini buses.
