I have been diving since I was 13 and in the last 10 years I occasionally have a cigar. I plan on going to Play Del Carmen in December and wanted to pick up some Cuban cigars. I was planning on having a cigar later in the evening after diving and I wanted to know if that would be good or not or if that would affect my diving the next day?

Any knowledge would be appreciated.

Smoking tobacco of any kind is not good for one's health, but a cigar in the evening shouldn't compromise the following diving day provided it doesn't make one sick at the time of use and the effects linger.

I agree with Doc-Nothing wrong with an evening stogie!
Just a note-there are lots of counterfeit cubans in Mexico!!!
Make sure you get them from a reputable dealer like La Casa Del Habano-LCDH
Dont buy from restaurants-street venders,etc-almost always fakes!
There is a LCDH in Cozumel-but not sure about PDC, but there probably is?
Dont expect any bargains-Cubans are $$$$'s

Mmmmmm .... Monte Cristo #2 Torpedo .... goooood! :11ztongue

Drewpy is right, i've been ripped off more than once but found a good street vendor about five years ago, a couple blocks back from the square (that is key, getting away from the square) and have not been ripped off since.

I'm terrible with street names so don't hold me to this but i think its on Calle 1 Sur and between 15 & 20 Ave Norte. I've been going there for almost 20 years and i still get lost. Everything looks the same to me.

I've been known to smoke an occasional ceegar after diving and i'm not dead yet.
