Diving Akumal/Iberostar Lindo?

Thanks, this will be I and my wifes firt ocean dives so we are definitely looking for a precise safety concious operation. I was thinkin Puerto Adventuras, but typed Morales.

I was in Akumal in May 2008 and I am very shocked at what I have read. I stayed on Half Moon Bay at Vista del Mar with my extended family and used their small dive shop, Akumal Dive Adventures. The staff was super helpful and professional and the dives were great. The dive sites I went to seemed to be in good condition and I saw lots of fish and lots of Turtles of all sizes. Akumal is known for its turtles after all and thats why I made my second trip there. All of the dive sites were 5 minutes or less from their shop on the beach. Half Moon Bay is super laid back which is what I liked about it. If I want to party I would have gone to Cancun I was looking for peace and tranquility. Just my personal preference. I can't say anything about the other dive op in Akumal as I never dove with them, I can just speak for Akumal Dive Adventures which I rank as very good.

Hi, If you want, few km north there is the Xpu-ha beach (ceck on line how wonderfull is!), reef reacheable from the shore for snorkeling, dives on the reef and outside just few minutes by boat. you can find a D.Op Bahiadivers that is specialized in personalized services and small groups ( max 6 for boat) and obviously Cenotes. Chak mool is 5 minutes far from the d.c. you can find them on tripadvisor or directly on the web. They provide free transportation from and to your Hotel
