Hello: I am considering lap band surgery to help with the weight battle. I will check with a specialist before diving but I would be interested in hearing if anyone out there is currently diving with a lap band. If yes, any complications? Thanks very much! Rob

Thanks to the folks who have PM me about their experience with the by pass. I appreciate the encouragement and advise!

Since the Lap Band is a different system, I would still be interested in hearing about the experience of someone who dives with the lap band. A response here or via pm would be most appreciated. Thanks, Rob

I had the band placed last May. We went to Mexico in November - did many dives. There is no reason you cannot dive after having a LAP-Band placed. In fact, my experience has been that I'm a better diver, now tha I weigh so much less! I've lost 68# to date. Get the band - you will not regret it!
