Looking forward to your trip report. Very interested in how your diving experience turns out. Will be there for 10 days end of Sept..

There's a pair of words that might as well be mutually exclusive. There's a tiny little dive shop in the hotel, (ooops, I mean resort) and there used to be a boat at the pier, but it never went out, so I guess they moved it back to salt river. (The dive operation is Anchor dive from salt river, the last place you'd want to dive with.) I work across the street at the Divi casino, so I see the activity, or lack thereof, on a daily basis. The hotel is nice, the beach is nice, you can rent kayaks, windsurfers or snorkel. There are just no dive sites anywhere near there, except supposedly a couple caves in 20 feet of water, but you can't take divers there without them being cave certified. If you're staying there, take a shuttle into town, C'sted, and go with SCUBA or D E. MileMark watersports does a trip out to Buck Island, well worth the trip, bring your snorkel gear. There are 20 to 25 moored dive sites within 10 to 40 minutes from the Christiansted harbor, where the DO's work from. About a third have a wall or mini wall, the others are coral reef. SCUBA can also take you to do the easy to dive wrecks on the west end. Hope you enjoy your stay, ask me if you want to know anything more.
