From: Divers Airlifted After Three Incidents (from Thisisdorset)

THREE divers with suspected decompression sickness had to be airlifted to safety in three separate incidents, Portland Coastguard said.

Rescuers were alerted by the vessel Redbreast after a diver showed symptoms of the condition on Saturday afternoon. The man was flown from Swanage to Poole, where he was met by coastguards, paramedics and a specialist dive doctor.

Later that afternoon another diver displayed signs of decompression sickness on board the vessel Skin Deeper, in Weymouth Bay.

He was airlifted to Poole by the coastguard rescue helicopter after rescuers sought medical advice from the town's recompression chamber.

Minutes later the aircraft was called to the vessel Miss Pattie, in Lyme Bay, where a third diver was suffering from decompression sickness symptoms and was flown to Poole.
