Nice Fred, very nice.

I'm going to be laying low until the flooding clears up, I'll pass on the Ginnie traffic jams I anticipate in the next few weekends, let's hit Peacock after the water goes down some?

I am also looking at the DR plate.. question for me is the harness. I like the Transpac harness but appreciate the simplicity of the standards. I am going to pool dive both and see which I like. Actually I am going to do a DR with Transpac harness and a Halcyon rig so I can try the different wings at the same time since I figure there is little difference between the plates. Whoever I go with I plan on getting the package since you get a better deal than piecemealing it...

One thing to consider is wear. I've got about 250 dives on my TransPlate, and the harness straps are showing some fraying where they feed through the plate. With a standard harness, you're talking about $12 to replace the worn straps. With the TransPlate harness, you're talking closer to $100.

Sweet setup though ... I really like mine.

I'm zeroing in on a Dive Rite BP setup with a transplate and trek wing. Is there a place to stow a SMB in the back like I've seen on other rigs like Halcyon? Where do you guys keep yours.

The Trek wing is my least favorite of all of DR wings (actually, I like their other wings). The footprint is fairly short, and a bit wider than other single-tank wings out there. I think the narrower, longer Oxycheq wing (or even the DR Venture wing) offers a more stable configuration. Just my opinion ... take it for what you think it's worth.

Not that I've ever seen.

In my left-hand drysuit pocket ... when I carry one.

If it's One of those I see people attach it to the bottom of the plate on your butt. If it's one of the hard ones you can mount it on the side in a pouch with a couple of clips. If you can let me know I find ways of mounting this stuff all the time. Zeagle makes a trim poch the use for weights. They Can be mounted on the harness easily and used for storage of anything. No modifications needed to mount them either. I use 2 on my harness for storage. they sit right up under my arms.

I believe its something like this.

i put mine in the dive rite pouch made for lift bags attached at the bottom of my backplate. the only downside that i know of is the bag is made to drain water by having the bottom part made out of mesh. because of this the bag and reel must come from the left side. this isn't a problem for me but my buddy doesn't like it for some reason.

thanks for your time
