O.K., I know this is probably an unnecessary modification, but has anyone used DR shock cord or OMS retraction bands on a Dive Rite Venture wing/BP? The 30lb wing is already low profile, but I'm thinking with the shock cord or retraction bands, I could make it look/perform like a 17lb wing until 30lb lift is needed. Here is my thinking on this. I like to dive steel 100s for max bottom time. 17lb wing with steel 100s and my current backplate (SS) would probably not provide the needed lift. However, putting the retraction bands/shock cord on my venture wing would really create an ultra low profile, yet offer the 30lb lift when needed (surface, fresh water). How about it, anyone tried this?

I put bungie retractor bands on the top of my venture wing, behind my neck. Whenever I dive with the Venture Wing almost full, it pushes my head down and KILLS my neck. I used 2 sections of bungie and routed them between the home-made STA and the backplate, It does seem to help my neck.

Are you wearing the backplate a bit high? The top of the wing doesn't even touch my neck when full. Could be a different body types though. I am a bit long waisted.
