Diverite: transpac or transplate? Trek or Venture?

I went with the transplate and venture wing several months ago and haven't regretted it yet. As a matter of fact, I love it! I believe the venture wing to be more hardy than the travel wing. As for the pockets on the harness, you will have room for a small one if you get the SMALLER dive rite weight pockets. MOST divers don't need the larger weight pockets (especially with a SS plate) and man are those things HUGE. Plus, the smaller weight pouches can be used as pockets if needed. My guess is your need for a pocket is over rated. You may find that with a BP/W clipping things off is much easier for lights, and things, IMHO anyway. Good luck! DSAO!

Thanks scubadobadoo, I may need to bigger weight pockets as I dive with a dry suit and several layers of clothing underneath. I'm currently using close to 40lbs of lead. Even with an SS backplate I would still need a hefty weight belt. I would like to try out the DUI weight harness, seems like a good alternative to the belt.

I'm more than happy to clip things off, but there are some backup items that are not often used that would be better stored in a pocket.

I think the Transplate is the way to go, but I'm leaning towards the Rec Wing at this point. Thanks for the input all.
