Oops. I tried to post a link here from the above in the Shows and Events Forum (I didn't know whether it should be here or there), but I think I messed it all up somehow. If they need to be combined/moved, I'd appreciate it.

Anyways, hope to see y'all there!

NORTH TEXAS REGIONAL TECH TOUR
Clear Springs Scuba Park, Terrell, TX
June 2 & 3, 2007
9AM – 5PM Saturday
9AM – 3PM Sunday

Welcome!
Dive Rite and participating Dive Rite dealers are looking forward to diving with you at our first annual Dive Rite 2007 Tech-Tour. Our Tech-Tour is designed to share the latest in dive gear TECHnology, share new dive TECHniques and give you a chance to dive with our own TECHnical divers as they share their experience with you. This is a great opportunity to enhance your dive knowledge and check out new dive gear. Details about the event are listed below. If you have any additional questions, please contact Dive Rite Customer Service at support@diverite.com (352.877.1052) or Ron Carlo (SouthWest Rep) at ronc@diverite.com (214.763.2967).

Admission Requirements
Dive Rite does not charge a fee for our events. Admission to Clear Springs Scuba Park is $20, per person, per day. You can find out more information about the facility at www.clearspringsscubapark.com or call 972.524.6820.
All activities will begin at 9am on Saturday. After checking in and heading to the left, you will see the Dive Rate banner and our tents. The tents will protect us from the weather and we will be diving come rain or come shine. Rental dive gear is available through participating stores. Air fills are available on-site.

Certification & Liability Requirements
Divers will need to show their certification card and complete a standard liability release form. A rental form is also required and we ask that a credit card be held as a deposit for all divers who will be trying gear. A parent or guardian who can sign the release forms must accompany divers under the age of 18.

Diving
Prior to your dive, each diver will be fitted with your equipment by one of our dive TECHnicians. Once you are geared up and ready to dive, you will check in with the TECHnician in charge who will assign you a guide. As soon as there are 2-3 divers ready to get in the water, an experienced TECHdiver or TECHinstructor will escort you on your dive.

Food
For $5 per day (must be prepaid at the Dive Rite area during registration between 8-9AM), Dive Rite will provide either a BBQ or Sub Sandwich lunch between 11AM and 1PM. Please plan your dive schedule around the good eats! Family members may also join us with a prepayment of $5 at time of registration.

Workshops
Dive Rite will be hosting three gear workshops throughout the weekend. The first workshop will be held Saturday at 9AM on HARNESS/WING options and GEAR STREAMLINING, helping divers find the right harness and wing for their diving needs and body style. Ideas on gear streamlining, hose routing and accessory minimization will also be shared. The second workshop will begin at 2PM on Saturday and will introduce divers to the O2PTIMA CLOSED CIRCUIT rebreather. A brief introduction to rebreather diving will be followed by a chance to demo the O2Ptima with an instructor (a small fee applies). The third workshop will be held at 10AM Sunday on SIDEMOUNT style diving, demonstrating our new side-mount rig as well as the many uses of side-mounting outside cave diving. Side-mounting tanks are a great option for divers who want to dive double tanks but cannot bear the extra weight on their backs, or for tech divers to streamline their profile when carrying stage bottles.

Join the Tech Tour Team
All divers who complete a gear demo will receive a Dive Rite Tech-Tour T-shirt as our way of saying “Thank You” and “Welcome To The Team”.

Things to Bring
• Dive gear including mask, fins, regulators, BC, computer and gauges, tanks, weights, and suitable exposure gear. (Note: rent these items from a nearby dive store BEFOREHAND, if you do not currently have them)
• Dive certification card and credit card for deposit.
• Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and bring your own favorite snacks, drinks, etc. Additional snacks and drinks are available at the park office.

Directions
Please consult a map or call 972.524.6820 for best directions to Clear Springs Scuba Park. Clear Springs is located just east of Terrell off US-80. From Dallas: Take Hwy 80 east to Terrell exit. Once you exit, you will proceed 7 miles passing through the downtown area of Terrell and turn left at the Exxon (429 North). Travel 7 miles to Cedar Grove Road (Cty Rd 346) and turn right. Go 1 mile and the gate entrance is on your left (watch for the Dive Flag).

Participating Stores:
(tbd) ... check back often, the list is growing!

Probably time to bump this thread if no one has looked at it in a couple of weeks.

Do you have to rent a piece of gear in order to "demo" it?

No rental fees for anything. They are just asking for a small fee if you want to try the rebreather. Ron carlo normally puts on a great display for DIve Rite and I am sure he will do really well with the Demo days that are being modeled after the DUI Dog day Rally.

Thanks, I don't mind reasonable rental fees but I'm hoping to bring up a group from Houston and want to be able to provide accurate info.

I took a wreck seminar from Ron at Seaspace, he's an interesting guy.

I just talked to Ron on the phone and he said they are getting great support from the home office and there will be plenty of stuff to look at, try on and test out. We will have plenty of knowledgeable staff on hand for the weekend event.

Howdy y’all –

Thanks for the terrific interest and support for the upcoming Tech-Tour weekend (June 2 & 3, if you haven’t been taking notes). Most of the area DiveRite dealers will be in attendance, so you can work with your favorite LDS right there.

It’s promising to be an awesome deal, one that all others are going to be using as a landmark for some time to come. And if you’re not there, you’re really going to miss out on the Season’s BIG EVENT – come rain or come shine (besides, you’re planning to get wet anyways, right?). By the way, I can’t name names yet, but as special incentive, some of the folks that are synonymous with the term “DiveRite” are going to be there as well!

I’ve had my phone ringing off the wall (OK, off my belt-loop, but you get the idea) for the past three weeks since this was leaked-out. And the answer is an emphatic YES to almost all of the questions I’ve received…
YES, we will have ALL of the terrific DiveRite products for 'Show-And-Try'.
YES, you can try everything (as a certified-diver).
YES, everything is No-Charge to demo anything (except for the rebreather, and that’s mostly for the consumables). Small print: Regular entry fees apply.
YES, you do need to get there early, it’s going to be a full two days.
And most of all, YES we’re going to have a whole lotta fun!!

NO …. Hmmm, can’t think of any.
Guess that says a lot, don’t-cha think?

Thanks!
Ron
