Hello my diving brother's and sister's,

Just a quick question on classic wings.

Will classic wings support HP120's? I will be diving with a drysuit and sometimes with a 30cu. deco bottle and the usual wreck gear.

I currently have Rec wings and I know they will not support 120's.

Any info. will be appriciated.
Thanks

Are you referring to the Rec wing (bungeed) that has 54 lbs of lift.....and it cant support 120's?? Something sounds amiss.

Are you talking about doubled HP120's?? If so, yes. I used the Classic for my doubled HP120's and it floated the whole rig on the surface without a problem.

If you happen to be talking about a single HP120 - Yes it will "support" that, but I found the "taco shell" effect of such a wide wing with a single tank to be a pain....

The Rec wing has the lift capacity, but the shape of the wing isn't one that is good for doubles. Especially for double HP120's. The wing gets trapped between the backplate and tanks. Thus restricting the air flow in the wing.

I tried my Rec wing with my LP 120 doubles and it sank to the bottom of the pool fully inflated. I switched to the Dive Rite Super Wing. No problems.

Thanks for the info.

Rich,
Yes I was talking about the 54lbs lift.

I going to the HP120's and was wondering if they would float them.

My question was would the classic wings float 120's and a 30cu. deco bottle.

Thanks

Double 120s are only about -20 pounds negative when full. 30cf deco bottle should only be maybe a pound or two negative. 54 lbs should be plenty.

The DR Classic wing offers 59lbs of lift. What type of dry suit are you using? The surface float test is not helpful if you're diving with a neoprene suit or anything that will compress with depth.

My classic wing supposedly has 59# lift.
Yes, It floats full double HP120's with an Argon bottle and a water heater sized Pro14 Can light.

Adding a 30cf bottle should not be a problem at all, unless of course you have a lot of extra weight on your BP already?
