I'm from Michigan yet I want to know where I can go on the east coast to collect artifacts any really! Is is legal to take of New Jersey and New York waters? Just asking advise to where to go I'm looking for old bottles, spoons and small ideas like dishes or plates thanks

Not really a huge biggie...if it's small stuff. The waters off NY have a ton of wrecks and on some wrecks you can find bottles by the galore. Of course for the good stuff you have to work for it - penetration.

don't know about the northern waters but when we artifact dive in S.C. we have to go through Maritime Research Division, South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology , and obtain a hobby divers license in all my years I have never been asked to see it or anything but Ive never been asked to see a dive cert card to dive the rivers either
