Hi All,

Am planning a trip to Vanuatu at the end of April/May and want to dive both from Vila and also spend a week on Santo to do the Coolidge/Blue Hole. Does anyone have any recommendation of preferred dive operators at those locations?

Much appreciate your advice,
Cheers :)

Just did the Coolidge in Santo 02 thru 12Dec'12 with Aquamarine Dive Operators, and stayed in downtown Luganville at the Espiritu Hotel. Best & easiest shore dive of any major WWII shipwreck in the world!!!

Dive the SS President Coolidge in Vanuatu with Aquamarine
Hotel Accommodation & Hire Car Rental Espiritu, Santo, Vanuatu - Holiday Deals - The EspirituThe Espiritu Hotel & Car Rental | Boutique Hotel conveniently located to everything, offering modern and contemporary rooms.

Favorite restaurants during my stay were Ocean King (on premises of Hotel Espiritu) and the French les Jardin des Saveurs about a block away. Easy walking distance to ANZ, BRED or Bank of Vanuatu for cash & currency exchanges.

thanks so much for the recommendations, will definitely give them a look! cheers :)

I would recommand with no hesitation the Deco Stop Lodge which is held by an australian couple, Ben and Kim.
They've have perfectly designed and arranged the hotel for divers, with rinsing tanks right behind the rooms taht you can access from your own bathroom. The location overviewing the channel is great, there's a good swimming pool on a wooden deck, with typical nivanuatu decoration and statues.
It's 5 minutes walk from the main street and car rental (Laho). Rent a car and don't miss going to Champagne beach, one the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, it's a 90 minutes 4WD ride though, and also to Blue hole on the way (in front of Oyster bay).
i've dived with Allan Powers the original dive center in Santo, they're all very experimented on the wreck and they'll pick you up at Deco Stop (like any other dive center I believe).
Have a try at the market for dinner, excellent Santo beef cooked for a ridiculous price. Also have a kava shell at the Kava bar next to the Shell station (10 minutes walk from Deco Stop).

In Vila, Nautilus is the most experienced dive center, I liked to stay at French owned Fatumaru Lodge excellent croissants heated on the barbecue(!) for breakfast. Close to downtown and to the best steak in town at Flaming Bull.

Hi Luko, thanks for that ... Deco Stop had come up in my searches, so will definitely be giving them a look. Cheers :)

I'll second everything that Luko said. Deco stop is awesome, great food too.

Not been up to Santo yet. Planning a trip this May. Been to Vila four times and dived with Maggie and Mike and their team at Big Blue every time. Beautifully maintained gear, great DM's and guides. Free pick up from local hotels. Fast boat. Great cafe next door ('Nambawan',) for lunch after the dives.

Has anyone done live aboard from Vila? Would be grateful for some detailed info.
