These accident threads are to learn from - so we can avoid the same injuries. Good that such losses are yet rare.

Deer probably kill more people that boats. We lost a family of 4 in Texas recently to a deer collision. Too many deer - no wolves, no cougars in much of the US, no screw worm fly.

In CO we generally have a few deaths a year from people hitting Elk. Generally on Mountain roads, before dawn and fog/weather is often a factor. Elk are not skittish like deer, but once they start to cross a road the entire herd will just walk across.

CO also has some serious boating accidents, but generally not involving divers. Put too many watercraft (often Jet Skis are involved) on a tiny body of water, and add alcohol, and it becomes very dangerous.
 
there have been more accident on boats lately than anything.... cruise liners have been having a lot of problems too i was on a liner that was on its side n people were literally holding on to the railings to stay o nteh boat....
