Diver/Dive-aware ENTs in Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago, Iowa City, or Pittsburgh?

I have an ear infection (simultaneous presentation of otitis media and externa). The medial symptoms have resolved, but the external ones failed to respond to treatment. My PCP started me on a second round of stronger drugs, which will hopefully improve the situation in the next 5-7 days.

He did indicated that if this doesn't work, I will next need to see an ENT. Does anyone know if there's a diver or dive-aware ENT in any of these cities? I live in Madison and can travel around the Upper Midwest, but have family in Pittsburgh and can make it there for the right doctor.

Hi dewdropsonrosa,

Any competent ENT physician should be able to address a refractory external ear infection. Do you have a trip coming up that you're concerned about? If so you may want to contact the hyperbaric unit at St. Luke's in Milwaukee. They probably have an ENT they work with who knows about diving.
