Yes, but wasn't it Tommykib that said there was zero vis? And apparently, as Cave Diver observed, he wasn't in a hat, he was on SCUBA.

However, there is no reason to believe he did not go through the wash-down as would a hard-hat diver.

If he did mention zero vis, I can't find it now. Superlyte mentioned working in 0 viz himself but I took that to mean no viz because of all the silt being stirred up on his jobs.

Viz in the tank was mentioned to be crystal clear.

As the owner of Water Tower Clean & Coat, Inc., a water tower maintenance company, I have dove, cleaned and inspected at grade tanks, elevated towers and underground vessels. I'd like to offer our most sincere condolences to Travis' family as they no doubt read everything they can regarding the circumstances of his death and will probably read this thread. We are in WI so I don't know Ron Perrin or any of his crew. I will avoid boring you with my speculations, observations and opinions. In trying to learn from this tragedy, if anyone can tell me what actually happened at the bottom of that tank, will they please let me know so I can educate my crew and myself in order to avoid just such a disaster. rfiene@merr.com Thank you, Russ Fiene

It's tough when you deal with cities and municipalities that are required to take low bidder for contract work. It then leads to the contractor having to cut corners in order to meet profit margins. I think there was a SMALL oil spill somewhere in the gulf (being sarcastic) that is going down this very road in the investigation. Let's hope this isn't the case with this incident. My prayers to the family.
